Immerse into the Spectacular Blue Hole

To the south of Ocho Rios, hidden in the green mountains, lie pools of crystalline turquoise waters, which invite to you to launch yourself in great episodes of cool and refreshing swim.

20170524_124153Blue hole, often called Irie Blue Hole, this attraction is the most visited, undeveloped tourist attraction in Ocho Rios, St. Ann. It easily holds the title of the region’s most notable attractions in the eyes of tourists and locals as well.

It’s not an official Jamaican Tourist Board attraction, but this is the reason why Blue Hole is so special.

The Blue Hole is divided into two areas. There is the main Blue Hole with its turquoise Blue waters that just begs you to jump in. The view is surreal. If you are feeling adventurous there is a Tarzan swing you can use. The other section of the Blue Hole is the waterfall section. This waterfall is around 20 feet in height. There is a path that runs along the river. You will rejoin the river further upstream.

With daring drops of 9-feet and 15-feet jumps and, up the top, a mud spa for back massages, it is no wonder this location has had a steady stream of visitors for a long time. The lovely backdrop and adrenal inducing jumps come second to the excellent service offered by the tour guides on site, as they direct you to the best drop site, advise you where to put your foot and get the best adrenaline jump you’ve ever had in the clear fresh waters of the Irie Blue Hole.

This is the type of place where you just feel like lounging around all day inhaling the natural beauty around you. You can pretty much spend the day watching others jump and dive off the various cliffs.

The lush tropical setting is gorgeous, the deep blue water is refreshing and the family-friendly adventure activities are thrilling! The Blue Hole has been rated by Tripadvisor as the top attraction in Ocho Rios and should definitely be on your list of things to do when you visit Jamaica.
